Lois Lancaster Hoffman, 91 a lifelong resident of Glen Ellyn. Loving & devoted Wife of the late Larry for 65 years. Selfless Mother of Mary Roman, John (Mary Beth) & Mike (Teresa). Sweet Nana of Chris (Kristin) Roman, Tim (Lauren) Roman & Dan (Kira) Roman, Kiley (Chris) Coatney, Shannon Hoffman, Megan Hoffman, David Hoffman, Melissa (Chris) Jalowiec, Mike Jr. (Megan), Colleen Goheen, Leslie (Chris) Dunigan & Jamie Hoffman. Adoring Great-Nana of 16. Dearest daughter of the late John & the late Marjorie Lancaster. Beloved Sister of Jeanne Edwards, late Jack (Nancy) Lancaster & the late Nancy (late Jim) Higgins and loving Aunt to many nieces & nephews.
Lois and her family have deep roots in Glen Ellyn. She graduated class of 1946 from St. Petronille School, class of 1950 from Glenbard High School and class of 1954 from Beloit College, and enjoyed a long career in education, at various levels in Glen Ellyn schools.
Lois had a servant's heart including being a Den Mother for her sons, volunteering at St. Petronille with the Catholic Daughters, the Garden Club and administering the Eucharist to the sick. She also took time to visit the elderly at Marianjoy in Wheaton. Above all, Lois felt family was the most important thing in life and embraced every moment she had with them.
A visitation for Lois will be on Friday, March 15th from 4-8 PM at Leonard Funeral Home, 565 Duane St. Glen Ellyn (www.leonardmemorialhome.com 630-469-0032). Funeral Mass, Saturday (9:30 AM CST) at St. Petronille Church, 420 Glenwood Ave. Glen Ellyn The Mass will be live-streamed via the following link https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCvNo_3DRlBPSBkdhbEB3j7Q/ Burial will be private.
