James W. “Jimmy” Farrell. Age: 91. Resident of the Meadows of Glen Ellyn. Died on December 26, 2012. Preceded in death by his loving wife of 68 years, Eleanor. Devoted father of Daniel (Jay), Timothy (Margaret), Jay (Alicia), and Erin (Ray) Moroni. Beloved grandfather of Michael (Heidi), Ryan (Rachel), Sean (Deborah), Joe, James, Casey, Megan (Michael) Prange, and Shea, Brennan and Flynn Moroni. Great grandfather of Connor, Ben, Peyton, Violet and Kayla. Much could be written about Jimmy – the kid from Canaryville with the twinkle in his eye who grew up to become a treasured city icon as the Clubhouse Manager for the umpires at Wrigley Field. But, we would prefer the world remember him simply as a good man. A man who loved his wife with all of his heart. A man who used all of his moxie and hard work to ensure his kids had more than he ever did. A man who doted over his grandchildren and cherished his great grandchildren . A man who touched so many. A man who inspired so many more. Visitation is Sunday, December 30th from 3:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Leonard Memorial Funeral Home, 565 Duane Street, Glen Ellyn, Il 60137. Prayers Monday, December 31st 9:30 a.m. at the funeral home to St. Petronille Catholic Church, Glen Ellyn for 10:00 a.m. Mass. Interment at Queen of Heaven Cemetery, Hillside, IL.
